TL;DR: Camp is messy, but clean hands are easy with an outdoor handwashing station. Our hand washing stations are great for summer camps, day camps, and sleep away camps.

As a child I spent a week every summer at Camp Lawton in the Santa Catalina Mountains bordering Tucson to the North.

I cherish the memories of that time: waking up early with my bunkmates, going on hikes, shooting rifles and bows and arrows, making arts and crafts gifts for our mothers, and braving the water bugs in the green-hued and frigid little swimming pool.

Every day the cook would mix a different juice cocktail and we would try to puzzle out the flavors before she revealed the list at dinner.

The food was hearty and plentiful. One year I helped with the pre-camp shopping and was amazed at the number of flat carts mine and the other mothers filled at Price Club (yeah, I'm that old) before driving it all up the mountain together.

One thing I don't remember doing was washing up before meals. We were cajoled into the showers a couple of times during the week and there were sinks for the toilets, so at least we could wash up after using the bathroom, but I don't remember washing up before meals at all.

As a kid I never gave handwashing a thought, but now as a father and grandfather, I think about it a lot. Hand washing is an easy and effective way to keep campers healthy.

Washing up before dinner is easy at home, but when you have hundreds of hands to wash you need more than just a sink. Our outdoor handwashing station is perfect for campers. Six or more people can use it at a time and it makes washing up quick, easy, and efficient.

Our new design is entirely built in the USA (right here in Tucson, in fact) from ABS plastic and stainless steel and will last outside for years of use.

Getting dirty at camp is part of the fun, but we can at least make sure campers have clean hands at mealtimes.

If you're a camp administrator, counsellor, or parent, I hope you will get in touch to see how an outdoor handwashing station can work for you.
